As a first responder, one of the toughest calls you will ever make involves the death of a child. But every year in North America, thousands of babies die of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. First responders need to remember that a SIDS death has more than one victim. Much of your time and energy should be focused on ensuring that parents and family members receive the information and support they need.
